BEAUTY SPOT 'DYING' SAY COUNCILLORS AS FOUR-POINT PLAN REVEALED

A PROMISE to restore one of Birmingham's premier parks has been made by the local Tory group as they bid to take power on the city council for the first time in 14 years in 2026.
Conservatives vowed to join forces with their counterparts on Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council to revamp Sutton Park in time for the town's 500th anniversary in 2028.
The Tories claim Sutton Park, the largest within Birmingham's boundaries and one of the biggest urban parks in Europe, is "dying" and has been starved of investment in recent years.
They vowed to place the park in a trust to attract inward investment and to scrap controversial plans to charge motorists to park in the beauty spot, which are currently being pursed by the present Labour-led administration.
