A CELEBRITY skateboarder who has taught his 10-year-old son everything he knows about the sport says he's glad the schoolboy is on a board instead of "robbing grannies".

Sutton Coldfield dad Bobby Male - who was a skateboarding sensation in China ten years ago - has bonded with his son Ernie over the hobby.

Bobby, 38, has even built a skate ramp in his back garden for the pair to enjoy.

Ernie, who starting skating before his first birthday, told the Mail that he loves how skateboarding doesn't have to be competitive and "you can just have fun and chill".

The talented youngster follows in the footsteps of his dad who became a 'celeb' in China after moving to the country in the late noughties.

He had visited in 2006 as a member of extreme sports display outfit Team Extreme and loved China so much that he decided to stay, earning a living as a skateboard coach.
