11 YEARS IN JAIL AFTER YOUNG VICTIM WAS ABUSED FOR THREE YEARS

- CARL JACKSON Court Reporter

A BIRMINGHAM man has been jailed for raping a schoolgirl when he was a teenager.

Ricky Allen sexually abused the victim for three years, telling her he loved her and to keep it a secret.

He was more than five years older than her, with the offending starting when he was a youth but carrying on after he reached the age of 18.

Allen, who has been diagnosed with autism, later contacted the victim on Facebook, but when she challenged him about why he had attacked her as a child, he replied 'stupidity'.

Allen, now 39, of Fairfax Road, West Heath denied one charge of rape, four counts of indecent assault, two offences of indecency with a child and two charges of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 years.

But he was found guilty on all counts after a trial and was jailed for 11 years with an additional one-year licence at Birmingham Crown Court.
