Surrey clash to kick off Bears campaign

WARWICKSHIRE will open the 2026 Rothesay County Championship season on home soil against Surrey.

The Bears’ Division One campaign begins at Edgbaston Stadium on Friday April 3 against last term's runners-up Surrey.
It will be the first of several early-season home red-ball fixtures, with Essex, Glamorgan and Yorkshire also the visitors across April and May.
The County Championship, which remains a two-division structure of 14 matches per team after reform plans were rejected by club chairs in September, will be split into three playing blocks.
