'Slowest runner' from killer gang finally jailed

THE 'slowest runner' of a group who chased and killed a man in a revenge attack has finally be jailed.
Bashir Mohamed was stabbed to death in Shylton's Croft in Ladywood in April 2021.
The 26-year-old had been chased across Birmingham after he was part of another group who torched and blasted the front door of a house in Sparkbrook earlier that night.
Three men were subsequently jailed for killing Mr Mohamed after admitting manslaughter.
Now, at Birmingham Crown Court, Adil Iqbal became the fourth man having confessed to the same offence.
Iqbal, 27, previously of Woodall Road, Aston had fled to Pakistan where he remained for more than three and a half years, only to inform authorities he would come back to the UK voluntarily in 2024.
He was sentenced to eight years and told he would have to spend two thirds of it in jail.
Previous cases have established that a house in Fulham Road, Sparkbrook was targeted by a balaclava-clad group, including Mr Mohamed, over allegations of someone's partner being unfaithful.
