Promotion vindicates Krystian's 'too good' prediction

BLUES captain Krystian Bielik has expressed his elation at winning promotion with the club, less than a year after enduring what he described as the 'worst day of my life.

Bielik, one of only ten players who remained at St Andrew's following last season's relegation, admitted the drop into League One was a low point in his career and he returned for pre-season desperate to make amends.

The Polish international, who has often been used at right-back this season following the emergence of loanee Ben Davies in Chris Davies' starting XI, commented earlier in the season that Blues would return to the Championship amid their pit-stop tour of the third tier.

"We're League One but I don't think there are any players in this team who are League One players," he said last September. "All of them are at a higher level.

"In six months' time we'll be a Championship team and a different animal. We stay humble and keep our feet on the ground and we don't want to choke on it, but the reality is we're too good for League One."
