Passengers 'cry' over Ryanair baggage row

RYANAIR passengers were left crying and distressed at the airport gate as they were fined £75 each for carry-on baggage.

Around 15 people were affected after staff members enforced 'over-sized' baggage rules ahead of a flight from Birmingham Airport to Verona, Italy.

One couple spoke out to warn others after being told to pay £150 for two suitcases, even though they claim both were designed to be compliant with Ryanair's baggage policy.

Lisa Sheasby, 58, and her husband Fabio Lima, 49, claim they were "targeted in a moneymaking exercise" alongside approximately 15 other passengers on December 28.

Lisa, who works as a floral designer, said: "Despite using a branded suitcase specifically designed to meet Ryanair's measurements, I was forced to pay £75 at the gate.

"I have photographic evidence showing the bag fit the sizer, yet staff refused to acknowledge it and charged me anyway.
