DULLAY SAYS HE TOOK GOWNS WORTH £600 ‘ON IMPULSE’ FROM HOTEL
A BIRMINGHAM man landed himself in court for burglary after “stealing wedding dresses” from a hotel room while on a first date.
Daljeet Dullay was meeting a woman off social media for the first time at a London hotel when he ended up attacking a police officer on February 7 this year.
The 49-year-old, of Bantock Way, Harborne, had taken £600 worth of Asian-style dresses from another guest’s room, but insisted he had “done no wrong” as they were returned.
Dullay claimed he and his date “forgot” their room number and the key card mistakenly allowed access. He then decided to take the dresses “on impulse”.
He previously pleaded guilty to burglary and assault of a constable. He also admitted racially aggravated harassment towards an officer in a separate incident last October.
