Man jailed for eight years after shooting

A MAN has been jailed over a shooting near Villa Park following the Champions League match with Bayern Munich.

A court heard Kasim Ali was in a Mitsubishi Shogun that rammed a Volkswagen Golf at the entrance to King Edwards VI School playing fields, which was being used for match day car parking.

The 24-year-old got out brandishing a Rambo knife while four others also exited the vehicle, all with their faces covered.

One of them fired a gun at Golf driver Shakil Mahmood and two other occupants who fled the scene.

Ali was identified after leaving a palm print on the Golf, having smashed its windscreen.
