CITY CENTRE AFTER DARK NOW A NO-GO ZONE FOR SOME AFTER ATTACKS

'It's fine in the day but I'd think twice at night'

A police cordon on Smallbrook Queensway the day after Katie Fox was stabbed in the area

BIRMINGHAM residents say they are feeling increasingly unsafe in the city centre - with many claiming it is nighttime that worries them the most.

Katie Fox, 34, was attacked on Smallbrook Queensway, outside the Bullring and New Street station, on Friday, November 7. Detectives announced last Monday that she had died.

There have also been three other separate incidents in the city centre recently.

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital following disorder outside the Bullring on Thursday evening (November 13). Meanwhile, two stabbings took place in October.

The news of knife crime has deeply shocked the people of Birmingham, and after speaking to a number of people in the city, many say they are beginning to feel more nervous in the city centre - for both themselves and their loved ones.
