I'm not going to chicken out but I have to ask is Nando's really worth it?

EATERIE CHAIN FAILS TO TICKLE MY TASTEBUDS - BUT REMAINS SUPER POPULAR

TEN years ago, before I’d even written a single word for the Birmingham Mail, I read a food review on the website that stuck with me for its sheer brutality.
Paul Fulford, former critic at the paper, had tried out Nando's to his dismay, giving it one star out of five (that I assume was 'one' because 'none' doesn't seem to be an option here on the back end of the website).
"Why, indeed, would anyone choose to eat Nando's nosh when they could probably get more pleasure having their taste-buds removed with a rusty razor?" he'd asked. Ouch.
Another question he raised that conjured up a less graphic minds eye picture, was: "Why would anyone choose to eat here when there are so many better, independent places serving more wholesome food at a similar price?"
I did wonder that myself here, 10 years on.
It'd been a good while since I'd been to Nando's. Not because of Paul's brutal review or some righteous snobbery, but simply because I try to get to as many new places as I can, just in case the very best dinner of my life is hiding round some corner in a spot I've never been to.
But last week I thought I'd head back to Nando's, to see how it was holding up.
