Hundreds unite in battle to stop cul-de-sac HMO

ALMOST 650 people have signed a petition in a bid to stop a six-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) opening in a quiet Solihull cul-de-sac.

Brean Avenue is mostly lined with bungalows for the elderly and has a single turning circle.

A plan to convert a three-bed family home would “significantly disrupt the harmony and value” of the neighbourhood, residents claim.

There are also fears multiple tenants could lead to increased noise and traffic, which the street was not designed for.

A planning application has not yet been submitted.

But a petition statement said: “Our avenue, with its single turning circle and limited parking space, is primarily dotted with bungalows that reflect the quiet lifestyle we cherish. Many homes have dropped kerbs, making on-street parking a nonviable option.
