'Heartbreak' as loved ones' graves smashed

GRIEVING families - including the mum of a teenager killed in a horror crash - have been left heartbroken after graves were vandalised at a Birmingham cemetery.

Police are investigating after flowers, plaques and irreplaceable family pictures were trashed at Kings Norton Cemetery. Some of the personal items were tossed into a bush.

Debbie Heath, the mum of 18-year-old Chad Heath, killed in 2022 when a speeding driver “lost control” of the car he was a passenger in, found her son’s grave “smashed up” on June 2.

Debbie said: “It’s so upsetting because we take care of our son’s grave. We go two or three times a day to feel close to him.

“We found the grave smashed and lights and beds stolen. The lanterns and candles were thrown all over the place.”
