FIVE men from Birmingham are facing lengthy jail sentences after a man was left with serious injuries when he was blasted with a sawn-off shotgun.

The victim, in his 40s, was sitting in his car in Darlaston at around 9am on October 11, last year when he was targeted by the men, who arrived in a Toyota C-HR vehicle, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard

The gunman fired a sawn-off shotgun towards the victim, blowing the vehicle's windows out.

The man got out of the vehicle to run from the scene but the gunman also got out of the Toyota and pursued him.

He fired a further two shots causing injuries to the victim's face, hands and lower part of his body. The gunman got in the vehicle which drove off.
