UNAI Emery has urged Villa supporters to be the ‘12th man’ for their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain tonight.
Villa face the daunting task of overturning a two-goal deficit after losing 3-1 at the Parc des Princes last week.
Morgan Rogers gave Villa an unexpected lead, but it was shortlived as Desire Doue equalised just before half-time. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then swung the momentum in PSG's favour shortly after the restart, and Nuno Mendes added a third in stoppage time to give the French champions a commanding advantage.
The odds are stacked against Villa, but there is hope: PSG have been eliminated from a Champions League knockout tie on three of the seven occasions they have won the first leg by two or more goals - a joint record in European Cup and Champions League history.
