MORE of Birmingham's children are living in poverty than at any time since modern records began making this year's annual Mail Brumwish appeal more vital than ever.

Brumwish appeal back to bring festive cheer to city families in need

Volunteer Rachel Groves with some of the gifts collected for last year's Brumwish campaign

Today, we have joined up with our charity partners to launch our festive push to get gifts to the babies, children and young people in our city who have the least materially, while also supporting youngsters who have gone through hardship or trauma and need a little extra reminder that they are loved and valued.

Our target this year is to get 15,000 gifts to children in the city and that's where you come in.

We are again asking Birmingham's residents and businesses to dig deep and help out by buying gifts off our wishlist for delivery. With a click through to the Brumwish 2025 wishlist, you pick your gift, pay for it and send it on its way to Edgbaston Stadium.

Alternatively, you can bring along your own purchases to special donation days, or give cash to help expert support workers buy specialist toys.

Every child of all faiths and none linked to one of our charity partner organisations will get a gift at Christmas, specially chosen for them by those closest to them, with love from Birmingham.

We all appreciate times are tough for many families and organisations in the city. The most recent data shows the terrible toll that rising costs and job insecurity is having on many of us.
