Warning to vessels taking oil to Cambodia

Thai vessels whose owners are found to have disguised or falsified their nationality while transporting oil to Cambodia will face legal action, the Thai Maritime Enforcement Command Center (Thai-MECC) warned.

The centre also announced that all oil tankers transiting to, from or through Cambodian and Thai waters must strictly comply with vessel identification and reporting laws.

Speaking at the Joint Information Center on the Thai-Cambodian situation, Rear Admiral Jumbol Nakbua, spokesman for Thai-MECC, said the National Security Council (NSC) has resolved to tighten oversight of Thailand’s maritime domain, particularly the transport of energy products and military supplies to Cambodia.
