University project targets closer Thai-Korean ties

Thammasat Business School (TBS) and Seoul National University (SNU) have launched the WorldNexGen 2026 project, a platform designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders by leveraging the institutional strengths of South Korea and Thailand to connect the Southeast Asian economy with the global stage.

The project is initially focusing on academic exchanges in the fields of economics, industry, trade, investment, and society and culture within certain nations in Southeast Asia, before expanding to cover Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Vietnam, Australia, the US and France.

According to Burapha Sanguanwong, founder and acting director of KH Academy, which organised the programme, the international academic collaboration represents a bridge connecting the academic excellence and uniqueness of both universities with industry experience.

"The programme offers participants a unique opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to Thailand's role as a regional gateway, encompassing academic learning, business and policy exchange, cross-study visits, and cultural exchange activities," he said.
