Typhoon to bring heavy downpours

>>Heavy downpours are expected this week as Typhoon Kajiki moves over Hainan Island into northern Vietnam today.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) says the typhoon, whose name means "beautiful sea fish" in Japanese, is expected to enter northern Vietnam today.

It will contribute to heavier downpours not only in Vinh and nearby areas in Vietnam but also in some provinces in Thailand, including Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

Typhoon Kajiki is expected to weaken into a tropical storm upon entering Laos and the northeastern region tomorrow and then into a depression when entering Nan and the northern region of Thailand on Tuesday.
