Thais urged to sign up for repatriation

The conflict in the Middle East is rapidly turning into a humanitarian crisis, prompting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to warn Thai citizens living in high-risk areas to leave as soon as possible.

"The overall situation in the Middle East remains highly volatile due to missile and drone attacks," said Panidone Pachimsawat, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, yesterday.

As the clashes look set to escalate further, Mr Panidone urged Thai nationals living in areas affected by the fighting to leave as soon as the situation permits.

Iraq has reported an increase in attacks while Lebanon continues to face repeated strikes, prompting civilian evacuations and raising concerns about a humanitarian crisis.
