Thailand's Jeeno Thitikul is one shot off the pace entering the final round of the Evian Championship on Saturday.
The world No.2 shot a four-under-par 67 to move to 10-under 203 for a share of third place along with three-time major winner Minjee Lee (66), Grace Kim (70), both from Australia, and second-round leader Lee So-Mi (71) of South Korea.
They are one stroke behind leaders England’s Cara Gainer and Australia's Gabriela Ruffels at the fourth of this season's five LPGA Tour majors.
Jeeno had a mixed front nine which included three birdies and two bogeys. The 22-year-old picked up two more birdies on the 12th and 13th holes to move to nine under before closing with her sixth birdie on 18 to move into contention for her maiden major.
