Stecon keen to capture data centre frenzy

SET-listed contractor Stecon Group is capitalising on strong growth in the data centre sector, expanding via investments, construction, water management and renewable energy.

Supavoravee Rakkulchon, head of investor relations, said the company expects to close a joint venture deal for a data centre by year-end on its own plot on Bang Na-Trat Road KM4.5, with construction scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026.

"Data centres represent a new investment opportunity for the company, with a research house forecasting the sector's total revenue from 2025 to 2027 will grow by an average of 7.5-8.5% per year," she said.

Another deal is slated to be signed in the first quarter of 2026 for Chon Buri, where at least 10 data centres are being developed — some by global tech giants such as TikTok and Google — adding to the existing 14 in Greater Bangkok.
