Thai stars Pornpawee Chochuwong and Kunlavut Vitidsarn began their BWF World Tour Finals campaign with victories in Hangzhou yesterday.

Pornpawee overcame fellow Thai Ratchanok Intanon in a hard-fought Group B opener 21-18, 14-21, 21-10 of the US$3 million season-ending tournament at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium.
Pornpawee plays China's third seed Han Yue, who lost to compatriot Wang Zhiyi 14-21 5-21 yesterday, in the second match today while Ratchanok faces a fight to stay alive as she takes on second seed Wang.
