New land appraisal prices to have limited impact

A new round of land appraisal prices to be effective in 2027 is expected to increase land prices along mass transit lines in Bangkok and surrounding areas by no more than 10%, attributed to the ongoing economic slowdown.

According to Akkaruth Sandhyananda, director-general of the Treasury Department, its appraisals for land and buildings nationwide serve as the basis for collecting land and building taxes.
Appraisal prices are revised every four years.
The current appraisal prices have been used since 2023 and expire at the end of December 2026.
The new appraisal prices for 2027-2030 are being prepared and are expected to be completed by Dec 1 this year, with implementation on Jan 1, 2027.
