Kunlavut, Ratchanok make India quarters

Kunlavut Vitidsarn and Ratchanok Intanon stormed into the quarterfinals of the US$950,000 (approx 30,400,000 baht) BWF India Open in New Delhi yesterday.

Mixed doubles stars Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran also made it to the last eight of the Super 750 tournament, but two other Thai mixed pairs failed to progress.

Kunlavut brushed aside Lu Guangzu 21-14, 21-16 in 42 minutes at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex as the Thai world No.2 improved his head-to-head record against the Chinese player to 9-1.

He will next play Loh Kean Yew after the Singapore player edged past home hope HS Prannoy 18-21, 21-19, 21-14.
