A US immigration officer shot and killed an American woman on the streets of Minneapolis on Wednesday, triggering large protests and strong condemnation from local leaders who rejected White House claims that she was a domestic terrorist.
The woman, identified by local media as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, was shot at close range as she apparently tried to drive away from agents who had surrounded her car, which authorities said was blocking their path.
Video footage of the incident shows a masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent firing three shots into a Honda SUV. The vehicle then veered out of control and crashed into parked cars as bystanders shouted abuse at federal officers.
Good's body was later seen slumped inside the wrecked vehicle.
