Defrocked monks face criminal investigation over sex scandal

Deputy CIB commissioner Pol Maj Gen Jaroonkiat Pankaew, Anti-Corruption Division (ACD) commander Pol Maj Gen Prasong Chalermphan, and assistant secretary-general of the Office of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission Pol Lt Col Siripong Sritula yesterday met several senior monks, including Somdet Phra Phutthachan (Sanit Chuanpanyo), at Wat Traimit Witthayaram.

The meeting aimed to address growing concerns over high-ranking monks engaging in serious monastic disciplinary violations, particularly illicit relationships with a woman referred to as Ms Golf.
