Charter court marks 28th anniversary
Bangkok Post
|April 13, 2026
Constitutional Court President Nakarin Mektrairat yesterday reaffirmed the court's commitment to upholding the rule of law and safeguarding public rights and freedoms.
Speaking at an event marking the court’s 28th anniversary on April 11, Mr Nakarin said the court played a crucial role in protecting constitutional rights, maintaining the supremacy of the constitution, and preserving Thailand’s system of democratic governance under a constitutional monarchy.
“Adherence to the rule of law remains central to ensuring legitimacy in governance and protecting citizens’ liberties. The court has consistently upheld constitutional principles while establishing key legal precedents to guide both the executive and legislative branches,” he said.
