Budget of B150bn eyed for stimulus

Ministry prefers previous schemes
The new government has financial ammunition of roughly 150 billion baht to implement its “quick-win” stimulus projects, according to a source from the Finance Ministry who requested anonymity.
One of the initial projects is the “Khon La Khrueng” co-payment scheme, which proved successful during Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha's administration when the Thai economy was stunted by the pandemic shutdown.
The source said the budget for the government's quick-win projects will come from the remaining 26 billion baht from the economic stimulus budget for fiscal 2025, the stimulus budget of 25 billion allocated for fiscal 2026, and if necessary the central emergency budget under the prime minister's authority that amounts to 90-100 billion baht and can be partially utilised.
