Bangkok Post
|January 28, 2026
At least 1,700 tourists have undergone screening for Nipah virus infection at three international airports, with no detections reported as of yesterday, Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat reported.
The Ministry of Public Health has ordered the tightening of screening measures for tourists arriving at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, and Phuket International Airports since last Saturday.
The screening was prioritised specifically for passengers on flights from Kolkata, West Bengal, where five Nipah virus cases were reported last week.
