The tussle to gain control of County Buildings is set to go down to the wire, the Ayrshire Post can reveal.

Two rival factions are battling to win support ahead of next Tuesday's all-important vote which will reshape South Ayrshire Council.

The balance of power is on a knife edge as key councillors ponder who to throw their support behind in a new-look regime.
