Party time at Millbrae as Ayr put cap on thrilling season

But the former player turned 1st XV coach insisted the champagne club will always strive to improve after a glory season which saw them unbeaten on home turf.

Three tries in the opening 10 minutes sent Ayr on their way to a thumping 41-12 win over Watsonians before the BBC Alba cameras. There was no way back for the capital side who put some respectability on the scoreline with two second-half tries.

Anderson revealed: "The amount of effort that has been put in has been monumental, not just by myself but by so many other people behind the scenes that maybe don't get as much praise as they should or recognition.
