New traffic system at port

The Port of Troon Harbour Authority has issued a special notice to mariners using the area, advising them of a new traffic light system which is now in operation.

A new IALA approved (International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities) traffic light system has been introduced at the Port of Troon.

And all mariners using the harbour are being encouraged to understand the new system which is now in place.

A note issued to mariners from the Port of Troon Harbour Authority states: “Mariners are advised that a new IALA approved traffic light system has been introduced at the Port of Troon.

“The new traffic light system is designed to enhance safety and improve traffic management within the harbour.”
