Gartcairn are realistic over survival goal

Gartcairn co-boss Ryan McStay admits relegation from the West of Scotland Premier Division is now a probability, but they'll keep fighting.

The Airdrie club are five points behind rivals Shotts in bottom place, as they host Troon on Saturday and travel to Shotts for their final fixture on May 10, hoping they've done enough to stay up.

But Shotts' shock 4-0 win over Johnstone Burgh means the Hannah Park club are two points away from making it impossible for Gartcairn to catch them, with a game more to play than the MTC Park side.

McStay said: "We're five points behind Shotts, they have three games, we've got two, so who knows what might happen.
