McCabe's men could be relegated before final game if Hamilton Accies win appeal

Airdrie face a relegation sweat this week as they await the outcome of Hamilton Accies' 15-point deduction.

But boss Rhys McCabe says his players can only focus on beating Ayr United in Friday's Championship finale.

The Diamonds' Lanarkshire rivals were docked 15 points for a number of alleged rule breaches, and their appeal against that sanction will be heard by the SFA on tomorrow [Thursday], just 24 hours before Scott Brown's side visit New Broomfield.

That leaves Airdrie, Hamilton, Queen's Park and Dunfermline in limbo until a decision is made, which will see Airdrie in the play-off place if it's upheld, but relegated if the deduction is completely overturned.

McCabe says all they can do is focus on their own game, and try to end the league season on a positive note.
