Financial assets worth Rs 1.84 lakh crore were lying unclaimed with banks and regulators, and officials need to ensure these reach the rightful owners, she said.

Gujarat Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, who was present at the programme, said that an amount of about Rs 2,500 crore in public sector banks and about Rs 235 crore parked with insurance companies in Gujarat will be returned to the citizens through this campaign.
