Integrated Renewable Energy, Green Hydrogen and Pumped Storage policies to attract Rs 5 lakh cr investments: CM

The Gujarat government on Thursday launched three energy policies aimed at shifting the state to non-fossil fuel sources. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel unveiled the Gujarat Integrated Renewable Energy Policy-2025, Gujarat Green Hydrogen Policy-2025 and Gujarat Pumped Storage Project Policy-2025. The policies will remain in force for 10 to 40 years or until the government notifies replacements.

State positioned as green energy leader

The policies position Gujarat as a green energy leader by targeting over 100 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, contributing significantly to India's 500 GW non-fossil fuel goal. The government expects the policies to create over 20 lakh jobs. The policies stress building centres of excellence and promoting women in the workforce.

The state will allocate wasteland for projects and has announced incentives to promote green energy production and use. The Chief Minister will head apex committees overseeing implementation of all three policies.
