ED attaches Rs 35.8 crore in massive betting racket

Over Rs 1k-cr transactions traced; over 300 bank a/cs frozen

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Ahmedabad zonal office has attached Rs 35.80 crore spread across more than 300 bank accounts as part of its investigation into a large-scale illegal betting and gambling racket operated through dummy bank accounts in Gujarat and other states.

The action was taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in a case against Jitender Teja Hiragar and his associates, officials said on Monday.

The attachment order was issued on October 29, 2025, after investigators discovered the accounts were being used to channel proceeds from online betting, gambling and related illegal activities.
