Tory move for ex-Labour boss

A COUNCIL'S former Labour finance boss has joined the authority's Conservative opposition group.
Hyndburn Tory leader Cllr Zak Khan announced Cllr Joyce Plummer’s move as a step forward.
The 84-year-old Peel ward Independent’s recruitment following Cllr David Heap regaining Baxenden ward for the Tories in a by-election in February brings the group's representation on Hyndburn Council to 13.
Labour has 21 councillors and the Green Party one - Cllr Shabir Fazal.
Cllr Plummer (pictured) was elected for Labour in Accrington’s Peel ward in 2014 and served as its borough finance boss.
