A THUG broke into a bedbound man's home and brutally attacked him with knives and a frying pan.

Daniel Laming has been jailed for four years for the assault which took place at the victim's home in Accrington on August 27 in 2022. The victim, in his late 40s, had woken in his bed to hear someone "fiddling with the window".

Laming, 39, then climbed through the window.

As his victim tried to defend himself Laming, from Bakewell in Derbyshire, put his hands on him and repeatedly said "Goddess".

The victim pressed his lifeline alarm in an attempt to summon help. Laming then began strangling and punching him and put a cushion on his face.

Laming then went into the kitchen and returned with knives and a frying pan. He then continued the assault, and said: "What is wrong with you? Die, just die."

His words were heard by the operator on the Lifeline call, who phoned 999.
