Re-roofing work set to begin in the spring

THE delayed re-roofing of Oswaldtwistle Civic Arts Centre and Theatre will start in the spring with a projected completion date in August.
Hyndburn Council has given the new date for the work after awarding a £350,000 contract for the vital work of Black Abbey Street Accrington company Rosslee Construction.
The authority had originally hoped to start repairs to the cultural hub's roof in June last year.
The building in Union Road closed in July 2023 after the charity managing the theatre, went into liquidation.
The work will involve reroofing and repairs to the roof of the building including rainwater goods, scaffolding, and other specified works.
