Tigers on the prowl as first 40 sets tone
The Rugby Paper|January 28, 2024
FOR those doubting the motivation and desire of the two sides at Dore More, there was the strongest of rebuttals, the Yorkshire rivals – separated by nine league points – dishing up a ‘no quarter asked, no quarter given’ type of fare.

The hosts were ruthless in the opening 40 minutes, largely thanks to a purple match during which they scored three tries without reply.

Josh Redfern fed Barney Goatley from ten metres, the centre somehow meandering through a mass of Hull bodies to find his way over the line, ahead of Lewis Taylor quickly adding another, picking off a deflected clearance kick.

And with the visitors still coming to terms with the double blow, they were behind their own try line once again, Louis Townsend racing over having been put in the clear following Redfern’s excellent break.
