Ruthless Saracens demolish Harlequins

SARACENS flexed their muscles mightily at The Stoop last night to remind everybody they remain the team to beat if you have intentions on this season’s Premiership title.

Owen Farrell’s side bossed it up front from start to finish, ran in six tries and could have claimed a couple more. Quins, in good form going into the game, were blown away and only featured sporadically in the contest.

With this disrupted shortened Premiership season already a third of the way through it is time for the thoroughbreds to make their presence known and Saracens were on the case from the off.

First though they had to absorb some early first half pressure from Quins for whom Nick David and Louis Lynagh looked lively and indeed it was Quins who scored first with a Marcus Smith penalty after he had missed an earlier shot when he hit the post.

After that though Saracens began to crank things up and as ever their lineout drills proved a profitable way of wounding their opponents.
