Hansen's hungry for another 'first'

MACK Hansen has loved linking up with his Irish team-mates for this year’s World Cup preparations, and is eager to play a big part in helping Andy Farrell’s side achieve another first when they head to France in September.

Australian-born Hansen has had a huge impact on the team since making his debut in the 2022 Six Nations, scoring six times in 14 appearances including three in this year’s championship.
Hansen, who joined Connacht from the Brumbies in 2021, appeared for Australia at the 2018 World Rugby U20 Championship but is eligible to represent Ireland through his Corkborn mother.
His entry into the team has come during a period in which Ireland have climbed to the top of the world rankings after a first-ever series win in New Zealand last summer back up by a Grand Slam this season.
While the fitness camps have been gruelling, Hansen has enjoyed the Irish camps with coach Andy Farrell creating a positive culture in the squad.
