KEV WON'T COME IN FOR MIKEY

YORK City chairman Matt Uggla says he will not risk affecting the club's new-found friendship with Southend United by raiding manager Kevin Maher.

Back in July, York donated the proceeds from their pre-season friendlies against Doncaster Rovers and Middlesbrough to the Shrimpers' Trust hardship fund, raising over £12,000 to help pay staff at the crisis club.

But, in a statement on social media, Uggla insisted the new relationship between the clubs does not extend to making an approach to Maher for City's vacant managerial role.
