YOU might have recently returned from the holiday of a lifetime or even married the man or woman of your dreams, but you’d still be hard pushed to beat the summer Rotherham United’s new signing Jack Holmes has just enjoyed.
This time last month, the 22-year-old winger was delivering parcels rather than pinpoint, goal-assisting crosses against a newly-relegated Premier League outfit.
But his pre-season performance as a trialist against Sheffield United – just eight days after scoring and teeing up another goal for Stamford versus the Millers – convinced Steve Evans to snap up Holmes from the club where he cut his managerial teeth 30 years ago.
