PLAYER-BOSS Scott Davies scored one of the goals of the round but could only reflect on an “opportunity missed” as Slough Town were held at home by League Two strugglers Grimsby Town.
Davies, 35, curled home a stunning 30yard free-kick to put the National League South Rebels in front on 28 minutes, only for Danny Rose to level for the managerless Mariners 15 minutes from time.
“It’s a bit of a strange feeling,” Davies said. “ I think we should have been two or three goals up in the first half so I feel like it’s an opportunity missed, and in the second half they had a lot of territory but not many chances.
