A decade of transformation puts Haryana on the path to universal, tech-driven, and patient-centered healthcare

Healthcare in Haryana is undergoing a quiet revolution. What was once a patchwork of limited facilities and uneven access is steadily transforming into an extensive network of hospitals, clinics, and digital services that make quality healthcare a right, rather than a privilege. From free dialysis and transplants to upgrade hospitals and doorstep disease control, the government's latest initiatives are bringing accessibility, hope, and dignity to millions across the state.

Expanding Access and Financial Support

The state has made rapid progress in improving healthcare accessibility, affordability, and infrastructure. To provide financial relief to cancer patients, those in advanced stages (III and IV) with an annual family income below ₹3 lakh, now receive monthly assistance of ₹3,000.

Under the Mukhyamantri Muft Ilaj Yojana, patients are entitled to free kidney, liver, and bone marrow transplants worth up to ₹3 lakh. Since the launch of free dialysis services in all district hospitals and medical colleges on October 17, 2024, more than 1.29 lakh sessions have been conducted up to June 2025.

Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure

Between October 2014 and March 2025, 196 new healthcare buildings—including sub-centres, primary health centres (PHCs), community health centres (CHCs), and civil hospitals—were constructed. During the COVID-pandemic, two temporary 500-bed hospitals were set up to meet emergency needs.

Thirteen civil hospitals have been upgraded to 100-200-bed facilities, while Ambala City Civil Hospital now operates with 300 beds. The Atal Cancer Care Centre in Ambala Cantt, inaugurated in May 2022, provides comprehensive oncology services.
