Kurukshetra to Morni Hills Haryana charts a new tourism trail

From revamping historical sites to promoting adventure sports and rural homestays, Haryana is building a multifaceted tourism ecosystem designed to attract diverse travellers and stimulate economic growth

Haryana is rapidly emerging as a prominent tourism destination in northern India, supported by strategic government investments and initiatives under the Union Tourism Ministry's Resurgent India Mission. With a focus on cultural heritage, adventure, rural, and film tourism, the state is adopting a multifaceted approach to attract visitors and drive economic growth.

A flagship initiative is the development of Kurukshetra as a major pilgrimage and tourism hub. A budget of ₹205.58 crore has been allocated for a "Theme Park" based on Mahabharat, 85% of its work has been completed. Efforts to revive Haryana's rich heritage are also evident in the Mahendragarh-Madhogarh-Rewari heritage circuit. Here, ₹29.61 crore is being used to restore Mahendragarh Fort and Rani Mahal, with 80% of the work completed, offering tourists a deep dive into the region's architecture and history.
