Young Americans are finding affordable thrills in an unlikely place: pickles. Priced out of homeownership, Gen Z is embracing "microluxuries."

Enter a renewed love of pickles. One survey found 51 percent of Gen Zers use them in social media-ready recipes and brands have taken note. In May, Smoothie King and Grillo's Pickles launched a pickle smoothie; last year, Popeyes and Sonic Drive-In rolled out pickle menus. TikTok has long been awash with pickle recipes.
